battery indicator

hi, i bought a xtinction camera last summer and everything has worked excellent until this week, i noticed the battery indicator was fluctuating rapidly fron 4.6 volts up to 14. 6 volts. i changed to fresh set of new batteries and also shut it down completly for 10 minutes, but it still does it. it still works good and takes good pics. any insight how to fix the battery indicator ? thanks much !!!!
