TrailEye XP and Informer IR True Infrared vs conventional Infrared systems
The answer to the second "can you see and visible light coming out of your TrailEye XP" the answer that best describes your question is yes there is a little tint of red compared to the rest of the red glow cameras. We have successfully removed 75% of red that comes out of our system compared to red that comes out of other cameras in this price range. Four years ago when the rest of the industry was bogged down in RED glow and Flash cameras we decided that deer could pick up on those types of designs. At that point we decided that we needed to set our selves apart from the rest of the industry with something different that would not alert or spook deer especially when in a video mode where the infrareds have to be left on for a longer period of time.
We tested several different designs by placing cameras to watch and monitor other cameras and how deer and wildlife would react to those different IR designs. We had cameras that had absolutely No red glow at all and some that use the current system we now use with about 75% of the red eliminated.
Our test results were exactly the same, the deer and wildlife did not pick up on either system. So you are asking why didn't we stay with the complete no red glow system. The answer is simple we did not get the performance out of that system that we are currently getting right now. There are trade offs for ever thing you do in imaging and Infrared design which relates directly to camera performance. With the deer not responding and unable to detect the current system we now have, and compared to the other cameras that do have a lot of red glow we are able to match and in most cases even out perform those red glow systems.
Please remember you need to compare apples to apples. The red glow system other companies are using is completely different than the system we are currently using on the TrailEye XP and all Informer models. These so called Black Flash cameras can not stand alone and achieve any amount of night distance without the added cost and support from another ad on IR adapter.
The tests were conclusive that a True Infrared system did the trick. Four years worth of still and videos should help convince you that the TrailEye XP and Informer IR are in a different class all of there own. Just the videos on this forum header and the attached images are a very good testimony of a system that really works.
We are not singling out any specific company these images were sent to us by one of our customers. The difference between a deer in the headlights conventional IR system that is used by the rest of the industry and a deer walking into a lick that has no idea the camera is there with the Predator "True Ir system".
Thank You for the support and if there is any thing you have questions on please feel Free to post your questions or concerns on the site.
